In years past, 33-year old Colombian Alejandro Falla might have been an imposing first round pairing for the greatest player in tennis history. Not, this season. Fall has been reduced to qualifying and was challenged all the way, losing his Friday match in straight sets.
With a 111 ATP ranking, Falla will pose little resistance for 33-year old Federer (25-5, 2015), a former champion in Paris. Too much poise, too much game and too much at stake for Roger who would love a good run in a favorable position in the draw. 2015 will mark a remarkable 7th appearance at the event which is staged on Federer’s least favorite surface. Not to worry, he will overcome the surface in Round One.
