The Lankan Lions have clinched the 2nd Test at Dubai vs. Pakistan by a huge margin of 9 wickets and the visitors are confident to win the third one as well.

The hosts have performed well in the shorter versions of the game but their depleted top order batting line up has let them down in Test cricket. They lost six games out of nine played in 2013-14 and won just two whereas one ended in a draw. Misbah-ul-Haq led them in all nine encounters and his co-batsmen with the exception of a couple of them were unable to come up to the required expectations.

Pakistan is currently involved in a three Test series vs. Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates. The first one at Abu Dhabi remained resultless and the third and final game will commence from January 16, 2014, at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Weather

Mostly clear and temperature around 13-22 degrees

Batsmen to watch out for

Sri Lanka – Kumar Sangakkara will most likely come out of his shell and will anticipate his 34th Test ton whereas Mahela Jayawardene and the skipper, Angelo Mathews are already in great form.

Pakistan – The batting line up of the home side will revolve around the experienced duo of Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq.

Bowlers to watch out for

Pakistan - Junaid Khan and Saeed Ajmal

Sri Lanka - Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep and Rangana Hearath

Teams

Sri Lanka will most probably go unchanged from their winning squad under the leadership of Angelo Mathews. Pakistan might bring in another batsman in place of Asad Shafiq who is going through his lean period and the injured fast bowler Bilawal Bhatti can be replaced.

Keeping in view the output of the Pakistani side in the previous games, Sri Lanka looks like being the most favourite to win the final game and the series.

  1. It's gonna be tough, match can swing anyway. Both teams are not in their best form. Pakistan will come back.

  2. Go Lions go!
