Team Pakistan finally made some impression while earning two points after a hard fought victory against Zimbabwe in their third outing. They already lost their openers vs. India, West Indies and were desperate to win a match to stay in contest for the top eight. The Green Shirts managed 235 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 50 overs and bowled out Zimbabwe on 215 with two balls remaining in the game. United Arab Emirates have played three games against Zimbabwe, Ireland and India but lost all of them. Pakistan will try to win their forthcoming match vs. UAE with big margin to grasp another two points and enhance their scoring rate while the latter can always surprise them.
Wahab Riaz impressed with his superb all-round performance in the previous game vs. Zimbabwe. He remained unbeaten for 54 and grabbed four wickets, Misbah-ul-Haq was the top scorer with 73 whereas Umar Akmal scored 33. Their openers failed in the third consecutive match whereas Haris Sohail, Sohaib Maqsood, Shahid Afridi must go with a positive approach in the coming encounters. Mohammad Irfan held four wickets as Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali are assisting him nicely.
Shaiman Anwar is their supreme batsman of UAE in the event and has scored 208 runs at an excellent average of 69.33 comprising one hundred and a fifty. Amjad Ali, Krishna Chandran, Khurram Khan, Andri Berenger, Rohan Mustafa and Swapnil Patil are required to contribute with the bat. Mohammad Tauqir, Amjad Javed and Mohammad Naveed are their most successful bowlers with four wicket each and rest of them should maintain their line and length.
