You have to have sympathy for the ten seed, who clearly had a disappointing clay season and may not enjoy the grass courts any better. Brazil’s Bellucci (17-15 with one title) is no pushover. He has not defeated Rafa in their four previous meetings but this Nadal (33-11, 2 titles) is vulnerable even though the Spaniard won in straight sets against Thomaz in 2012 on these courts. If I had to pick a major upset in the first round, this would be it. Bellucci shocks the crowd and takes Rafa out in five, sending the former world number one tumbling in the rankings.
