With just one point separating Lorient from Rennais, the game between the two French clubs at the weekend promises to be an entertaining and a nail biting encounter.

FC Lorient would be looking to continue their good run of form when they lock horns with Rennais FC, whoave lost their way somewhere after a blistering start to the season. Lorient are currently 9^th in the league table with 15 points to their name out of a possible 30. At the end of gameweek 10, Les Merlus have registered victories in four of their games while drawing three games in the process. On three occasions, they have failed to collect any point at all and the bosses at the club would be hoping to avoid that scenario when they take on Stade Rennais this Saturday.

The hosts are coming in this game on the back of a hard fought 1-1 draw against Marseille away from home. Getting a point at Stade Vélodrome is never an easy feat to achieve in French league but after getting something out of that game, morale must be high at Lorient. Sylvain Ripoll would be hoping for another good performance from his side this Saturday but this time, nothing but the maximum three points will satisfy him. And to achieve that feat, Lorient will be looking towards their top goal scorer this season, Benjamin Moukandjo, who has scored five times already, followed by Majeed Waris with three goals.

Stade Rennais on the other hand, would be looking to get their campaign back on track following a rough few weeks. After starting the 2015-16 season brightly, Les Rouges et Noirs have somewhat lost their way. They are currently 7^th in the league standings with 16 points on the table thanks to their 4 victories early in the season. Although Rennais have lost only two of their games, their four games have ended in a draw and they are coming in this game on the back of a poor run of form in the league as well.

The visitors are winless in their last five Ligue 1 outings with four draws and a defeat, which came in their last game against OGC Nice at home. They were thrashed 4-1 by the visitors and coach, Philippe Montanier would be hoping to avoid another such result when his side travel to Lorient on Saturday. With both Rennais and Lorient in dire need of morale boosting victory, Saturday’s encounter promises to be a nail bitter.
