Radamel “El Tigre” Falcao is quite probably one of the most “deadly” centre forwards ever to have walked across European football. The Colombian sharpshooter arrived at the Old Continent to play for FC Porto back in 2009 and immediately he started to impress. While at the Portuguese team, Falcao netted in the stunning number of 72 goals in almost 90 appearances and it didn’t come as a surprise when he signed for Atlético Madrid in 2011, where he continued his goal scoring quest.

“El Tigre” left everyone stranded when, last season, he decided to leave Los Colchoneros and Spanish football to play for the Ligue 1 newcomers AS Monaco. Despite his promising start with new French millionaires, Falcao was struck by a fairly complicated knee injury that forced him to lose the rest of the season and the World Cup tournament as well.

Already last season, the media began reporting that Falcao was determined to leave the French Principate as soon as possible, especially because he didn’t have a particularly good relationship with the former team’s boss, Claudio Ranieri.

Over the course of these last weeks, the media started to report that AS Monaco were willing to let Falcao leave for the right price and the interest in the Colombian goalscoring machine was thought to be high. After signing James Rodríguez, Real Madrid have allegedly declared some interest on AS Monaco’s other Colombian star, but they never presented an offer for him. As the weeks went by, several English teams reportedly approached the French side about Falcao, although, according to the media, it was Liverpool who allegedly opened talks with AS Monaco in order to take “El Tigre” to Anfield Road.

The Reds’ boss, Brendan Rodgers, is still on the market looking for a “perfect” replacement for Luis Suárez, who joined Barcelona this Summer, and Falcao seems to be the right man to perform such job. Although there still isn’t a confirmation from both parts, the media are claiming that Falcao will be available for loan until the end of the season with the prospect for a permanent deal after the end of the current campaign, something that, if true, would be the perfect scenario for Liverpool, who have already embarked on a spending spree this Summer.

Although Falcao’s future is still uncertain, one thing already seems certain: the Colombian tiger will almost surely leave AS Monaco sometime during the current season.
