Wales are definitely one of the most pleasant surprises of the Euro 2016 Qualifying campaign. Led by Real Madrid’s superstar Gareth Bale, the Red Dragons have not yet been defeated after eight qualifying matches and they are currently the leaders of their group ahead of the all-powerful Belgium side, Israel and Bosnia.

A late goal from the former Spurs’ winger granted Wales a narrow win during their visit to Cyprus early last month, but just a few days later, Chris Coleman weren’t able to get anything better than a goalless draw from their home match against Israel.

Next weekend’s match at Zenica will most certainly be far from easy, since their opponents, Bosnia, are still on the hunt for a place in next year’s tournament in France. Wales could only miss an automatic place in the European Championship if they lose their both remaining matches, although that is not very likely to happen, given the Welsh side recent record.

Wales are going through a fantastic run only comparable to the one they experienced back in the early 1980s where they remained unbeaten for eight consecutive matches.

As for Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is fair to say that their qualifying campaign has been fairly disappointing so far. The Balkan team are currently on the fourth place of their group behind Wales, Belgium and Israel and need to win the remaining matches in order to keep their hopes of granting a place in the European Championship alive. Bosnia need to gain three points on Israel in their last two qualifying matches in order to secure a play-off place; otherwise, if both sides end the group with the same number of points, the Israelis will have the upper hand because of the head-to-head record.

Everton’s all-road midfielder Muhamed Besic will miss the clash against Wales, since he is currently sidelined due to suspension.
